Programs & Events

Bellevue is so much more than where you reside.

It's an active community where you can build relationships and create memorable moments.

Our goal is to build a selection of community events reflective of the diversity in our community, bringing people from all walks of life together and strengthening the bonds between them. Participating in an event is more than just a fun way to get to know your neighbours. It holds a variety of benefits, such as:

  • Building social skills

  • Providing a great way to give back

  • Fostering inspiration

  • Improving mental health

Our community events celebrate our community's special character and we are always looking for fresh ideas and volunteers to lend a hand, big or small.

Our Neighbourhood
in Bloom

Celebrate the neighbours who bring beauty, colour, and community pride to Bellevue and Virginia Park.

Do you know a front yard that makes you stop and smile? Front Yards in Bloom is a chance to recognize neighbours whose gardens bring life, beauty, food, and colour to our homes.

You can nominate your own yard, a friend’s yard, or a neighbour’s yard; those next door or across the neighbourhood between July 26 through August 31. Simply note the address and send your nomination to programs@bellevuecommunity.ca. We will only use the address for this program, and selected yards will receive a note of gratitude and a sign of recognition.

What are we looking for? Anything that sparks awe, joy, or appreciation can be nominated. If you need inspiration, here are a few categories we will be celebrating:

  1. Edible Yard - Front yards growing delicious fruit, vegetables, herbs, or other edible plants.

  2. Pollinator Yard - Naturalized yards, native plantings, or gardens full of blooms that support bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

  3. Tiny but Mighty - Small spaces that make a big impact, from compact flower beds to creative container gardens.

  4. Most Dedication - Large beds, thoughtful designs, or gardens that clearly show a lot of time, care, and TLC.

  5. Most Growth - Gardens that have grown and changed over time, along with the skills, creativity, and confidence of the gardener.

Want to do more? Help us deliver recognition in person! To receive a volunteer kit, please contact Christine at programs@bellevuecommunity.ca
